At kotor.cloud, your safety and peace of mind are our highest priorities. Whether you are embarking on a high-speed adventure to the Blue Cave or enjoying a relaxed twilight cruise across Boka Bay, we ensure that every tour booked through our platform meets the highest standards of maritime safety.

We work exclusively with Verified Local Partners who strictly comply with Montenegrin maritime laws and international safety regulations.

1. Verified Vessels & Onboard Safety Equipment

Every speedboat, motorboat, and vessel listed on kotor.cloud is thoroughly inspected and equipped with modern safety gear before leaving the dock.

  • Life Jackets for All Ages: Fully certified life jackets are provided on board for every passenger, including specialized, certified life vests for infants and children.
  • Emergency Equipment: All boats are equipped with mandatory safety gear, including first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, distress flares, ring buoys, and VHF marine radios.
  • Navigation & GPS: Vessels feature modern GPS navigation and communication devices to stay connected with local maritime authorities at all times.
  • Regular Technical Inspections: All partner boats undergo annual technical inspections and licensing by the Montenegrin Maritime Safety and Port Management Agency (UPSUL).

2. Licensed & Professional Skippers

Your skipper is more than just a boat driver—they are your certified maritime guide and safety officer on the water.

  • Fully Certified Professionals: Every skipper holds an official commercial skipper license, radio operator certification, and basic first-aid training.
  • Extensive Local Knowledge: Our skippers have years of experience navigating the specific currents, shallow zones, and narrow straits of the Bay of Kotor (such as the Verige Strait).
  • Strict Adherence to Speed Limits: Our captains strictly enforce speed regulations, especially near historic coastal settlements like Kotor, Dobrota, and Perast, to ensure passenger safety and protect local shores from wake damage.

3. Weather Monitoring & Sea Conditions

Boka Bay is generally calm and sheltered, but open-sea areas (like the entrance to the Blue Cave and Mamula Island) can be affected by coastal wind and swell.

  • Real-Time Weather Tracking: Skippers monitor maritime weather forecasts and marine radar continuously throughout the day.
  • Captain’s Authority: The skipper holds absolute authority to modify the itinerary, seek sheltered waters, or return to port if sea or wind conditions worsen.
  • Safety-First Cancellations: If a tour is canceled due to adverse weather or unsafe sea conditions, guests are offered a free date/time reschedule or a 100% full refund under our Cancellation Policy.

4. Guest Guidelines for a Safe & Enjoyable Cruise

To ensure a smooth trip for everyone on board, we kindly ask all guests to follow these basic safety rules:

  • Listen to the Safety Briefing: Pay attention to your skipper’s short safety briefing before departure regarding boat movement, seating, and life jacket locations.
  • Stay Seated at Speed: Always remain securely seated while the boat is in motion or cruising at high speeds. Do not stand up or move around until the boat has come to a complete stop and the engine is idling.
  • Mind Your Belongings: Secure loose items such as hats, sunglasses, cameras, and mobile phones, especially during high-speed transit.
  • Stay Hydrated & Protected: The summer sun on the water can be intense. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water. Tenda/bimini shade covers are available on all our boats.
  • Alcohol & Safety Policy: Moderate alcohol consumption is permitted, but intoxicated behavior that compromises passenger or crew safety will not be tolerated, and skippers reserve the right to terminate the tour without a refund.

5. Health, Mobility & Special Considerations

  • Non-Swimmers: Please inform your skipper before departure if you or anyone in your group cannot swim. Life jackets can be worn for the duration of the trip, including during boat stops.
  • Pregnancy & Medical Conditions: Guests who are pregnant, have severe back/neck issues, or have heart conditions should notify us prior to booking private or speedboat trips, as waves can occasionally cause rough movement.
  • Accessibility: If you or a family member require assistance boarding the boat, please let our team know in advance so we can choose accessible dock locations and vessels.

📞 24/7 Emergency & On-the-Ground Support

In the unlikely event of an emergency on the water, our partner vessels have direct, direct-dial communication with the Montenegrin Coast Guard & Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC). For any urgent booking assistance, our local team is available on WhatsApp and email at booking@kotor.cloud.
